Type H.S. 26, also called Junior was an attempt by Hispano Suiza to produce a smaller and more economical Hispano, much like the 20hp Rolls Royce next to the Phantom series. The model HS 26 was to be produced in the former Ballot factory in Paris, already owned by the Hispano Suiza works. The result was a very elegant chassis with its beautiful engine lay-out, which received individual coachwork by many great houses. Total production in 3/4 years is believed to be 130 examples. |

Description |
This car is believed to be one of the first HS 26. It still carries a Ballot ID plate and the chassis number indicates this to be the 4th car build, after the 'prototypes'all further HS 26 models received a different numbering. Found by Oliver Herbosh from Antwerp, Belgium it went to Max Lips when he bought the complete Herbosh collection. Max Lips wsa the founder of the Autotron Museum in Drunen, Holland. The car was in an awful condition but bought by another dutch collector, already owning a similar model, which was a great help to restore chassis number 20004 properly. Dutch regsitered, ready to drive away.
